BREAD AND BUTTER PUDDING

HOW TO MAKE BREAD AND BUTTER PUDDING

Bread and Butter Pudding is without a doubt the ultimate expression of all possible uses for dry bread! Although it is delicious when prepared with pre-sliced bread, it is worthy of serving guests when made with chunks of bread. You may use pieces of a loaf that has been left over, dinner rolls, or even hot dog buns!

Custardy in the middle, with a golden and buttery crust on top. This traditional delicacy is sure to put you in a comforting state. The only thing that matters is, "What are you going to serve it with?" Do you want ice cream, cream, custard, or something else entirely?

I can remember vividly the very first time I ever had bread and butter pudding. My attitude was quite cynical at the time. What's next, a dessert made of stale bread? That sounded completely ridiculous. What an idiot I really am. Be prepared to be astounded by Bread and Butter Pudding if you've never had it before, for this dessert is a piece of beauty in its own right. Try to convince me that you do not want to consume this!

Yet although it has a reputation for being an old-fashioned, home-style dessert with thrifty roots, the simple Bread and Butter Pudding may be seen on the menus of even the most sophisticated bistros these days! Despite this, it is often prepared using very dense and buttery bread like brioche and challah, which lends it a wonderfully opulent air.

But these days, we stick to the tried-and-true, budget-friendly method of using basic white bread for our daily needs. However, I'm sure you'll agree that the way it tastes doesn't have anything to do with saving cash!!!

THE INGREDIENTS LIST:

White bread; I used 8 cups of 1’’ pieces (preferably slightly stale).

1 Cup.Of raisins (you can add more!)

FOR THE EGG MIXTURE; I USED:

3 large eggs.

1 1/2 Cups.Of full fat, milk.

1 Cup.Of thickened cream.

3 Tbsp.Of unsalted butter; melted and cooled to room temp.

1/2 Cup.Of white sugar.

1 Tsp.Of cinnamon powder.

1 Tsp.Of vanilla extract.

PREPARATION:

Step 1:

Prepare the oven temperature at 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) (all oven types)

Step 2:

Put the eggs in a big bowl and give them a quick stir. Add the rest of the ingredients for the Egg Mixture and mix them together.

Step 3:

After gently mixing in the bread and sultanas, leave the bowl aside for three minutes to enable the egg mixture to completely soak into the bread.

Step 4:

Pour into a dish prepared for baking. If there are a lot of sultanas on the surface, you should make holes in the ground underneath them.

Step 5:

Pour over the melted butter, then bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the top is brown and the center is firm but still somewhat wobbly (poke to check).

Step 6:

If desired, brush with the remaining 1 1/2 tablespoons of melted butter and sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.

Step 7:

Take a little break, and then serve as soon as possible with the toppings of your choosing! My favorites are ice cream, custard, and cream.
