1 diced onion.

3 cloves of garlic, minced.

1 medium can.Of crushed tomatoes.

1 small can.Of tomato paste.

1 Tsp.Of dried basil.

1 Tsp.Of dried oregano.

Salt and pepper to taste.

FOR THE RICOTTA FILLING:

2 Cups.Of ricotta cheese.

1 Cup.Of shredded mozzarella cheese.

1/2 Cup.Of grated Parmesan cheese.

2 large eggs.

1/4 Cup.Of chopped fresh basil.

Salt and pepper to taste.

FOR THE ASSEMBLY:

12 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained.

2 Cups.Of shredded mozzarella cheese.

1/4 Cup.Of grated Parmesan cheese.

Chopped fresh basil for garnish.

PREPARATION:

1st Step

Prepare a temperature in your oven of 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).

2nd Step

Cook the ground beef and Italian sausage in a large pan over medium heat until the meat is browned and the sausage is browned. After adding the onion and garlic, continue to sauté for another two to three minutes, or until the onion becomes translucent, whichever comes first.

3rd Step

Mix in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, dried basil, dried oregano, and seasonings of your choice (salt, pepper, and pepper flakes). After turning the heat down to a low setting, continue to boil the sauce for around 15–20 minutes to enable the flavors to combine.

4th Step

Mix together the ricotta cheese, the shredded mozzarella cheese, the grated Parmesan cheese, the eggs, the chopped fresh basil, the salt, and the pepper in a mixing dish. Be sure that all of the ingredients are uniformly distributed throughout the mixture before you stop mixing.

5th Step

Spread a thin coating of the beef sauce on the bottom of a baking dish that is 9 inches wide and 13 inches long. On top of the sauce, arrange a layer of cooked lasagna noodles with just a little bit of overlap between each noodle.

6th Step

On top of the noodles, evenly distribute one-half of the ricotta filling and then top with the remaining filling. On top, sprinkle some grated Parmesan cheese and add a layer of mozzarella cheese that has been shredded.

7th Step

Continue the process of stacking the ingredients by adding another layer of meat sauce, lasagna noodles, the leftover ricotta filling, shredded mozzarella cheese, and grated Parmesan cheese.

8th Step

To complete the dish, add one more layer of meat sauce, followed by shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese on the very top.

9th Step

After covering the baking dish with aluminum foil, place it in an oven that has been warmed to 300 degrees. After that, take off the aluminum foil and continue baking for another 15 to 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling.

10th Step

After it has finished cooking, take the pizzagna out of the oven and let it stand for ten to fifteen minutes. Because of this, it will be able to be set, and it will be simpler to slice. And before serving, garnish with fresh basil that has been chopped.
