TO MAKE THIS DELIGHTFUL HOMEMADE SPAGHETTI RECIPE, YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING INGREDIENTS:
One Pound.Of ground beef.
A medium onion; finely chopped.
3 minced garlic cloves.
A 28oz Can.Of crushed tomatoes.
A 14oz Can.Of diced tomatoes.
2 Tbsp.Of tomato paste.
1 Tsp.Of dried basil.
1 Tsp.Of dried oregano.
1/2 Tsp.Of sugar.
1/4 Tsp.Of red pepper flakes.
Salt and black pepper to taste.
1/4 Cup.Of fresh basil leaves, chopped.
Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving.
PREPARATION:
1st Step
Brown the ground beef over medium heat in a large saucepan or Dutch oven until no longer pink. While it's cooking, break it up into smaller pieces.
2nd Step
Sauté the ground beef for approximately 5 minutes before adding the chopped onion. The onion should become transparent and aromatic during this time.
3rd Step
Mix in the minced garlic and continue cooking for another minute or two, or until the garlic starts to release its scent.
4th Step
Combine the chopped tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, and tomato paste, and add to the pot. Combine all of the ingredients, making sure the tomato paste is well distributed throughout the sauce.
5th Step
Put in the sugar, red pepper flakes (optional), salt, black pepper, and dried basil/oregano. Blend the spices into the sauce by stirring vigorously.
6th Step
Turn the heat down to low and simmer the sauce, stirring regularly to keep it from sticking to the bottom of the pan, for at least an hour. If you have the time, let the sauce stew for a little longer so that the flavors may really emerge.
7th Step
Pasta should be cooked al dente (stiff to the bite) according to package directions while the sauce is simmering. The spaghetti should be drained and kept aside.
8th Step
When the sauce has completed simmering, give it a taste to see if it needs any further spice. You may adjust the seasoning to taste by adding additional salt, pepper, or herbs.
9th Step
Serve by heaping a large mound of cooked spaghetti onto a dish or platter. Pour the homemade sauce over the pasta and stir to cover each noodle with the savory sauce.
10th Step
If you'd like, put some grated Parmesan cheese on top and decorate with fresh basil leaves for presentation.
